PORTLAND-- Diana Louise Knight Grindle, 77, of Portland, ME, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2018. Diana was born to John and Lorena Gerrish Knight on June 13, 1941, in Camden, ME. She attended Deering High School and the University of Southern Maine. She worked hard all of her life and finished her career as the Executive Director at Group Main Stream, where she was loved by both clients and employees. She will be lovingly remembered and missed greatly by all who knew her. She is survived by her brothers, Richmond Knight, and wife, Nanone, of Westbrook and William Knight of Portland; a son, John Grindle and wife, Edith, of Kittery as well as the three grandchildren that she raised: Joseph Wilcox and wife Ofelia of Walnut Creek, CA; Autumn Smith Nye and husband Richard of Poland; and Heather Wilcox Harmon and husband Jeffrey of Gray. She also leaves to cherish her memory three grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, as well as her daughter, Cheryl Diana Grindle. A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018, from 11 am to 12 pm at the Westbrook Chapel of Dolby Blais & Segee, 35 Church St. Westbrook, ME with a funeral service beginning at 12pm. The family would like to thank Lisa Turner for her exceptional care and companionship.
